SERVICE DETAILS
Alicia J. Thames, affectionately known as "Lisa" was born on Monday July 29, 1957 in Carlisle, PA, daughter of the late Carl and Loretta (Gumby) Stanton. She departed this life untimely on Saturday October 13, 2018.
Lisa graduated from Neptune Senior High School in 1976 and from the Brick Computer School. Shortly thereafter, Lisa was employed by the Naval Support Center, Mechanicsburg, PA before transferring to CECOM Fort Monmouth, NJ in 1981.
Lisa was a devoted member of True Vine Baptist Church and served in many ministries at The Cathedral; including Episcopal Nurse and Hand Maiden to Pastor Robin Mitchell. As a former Resident Representative of the Neptune Housing Authority she worked tireless for her community.
She was predeceased by her only child Jasmine Thames; her parents Carl Stanton and Loretta Furman, and her step-father John R. Furman Sr.
She is survived by her loving sister Lori Stanton Harris, Huntsville, AL; brothers Darrell J. Furman, Neptune, NJ and John R. Furman Jr. (Norma), Carlisle, PA; her two adorable nieces Ashley R. Furman, Neptune, NJ and Keri N. Harris, Huntsville, AL; her close cousin and dear friend Jacqueline T. Sweeney, Tinton Falls, NJ; her aunts Janice Sweeney Ramsey (Jules), Neptune NJ, Harriett L. and Edna C. Gumby, Mt. Holly Springs, PA and Betty Stanton of Carlisle, PA and uncle William Gumby, Rochester, NY; as well as a host of cousins in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Missouri.
Lisa made numerous friends at the Davita Dialysis Center and throughout the community. She was a faithful servant of GOD and had a deep heart for her True Vine Cathedral Church family. She will be sadly missed by ALL who had contact with her either by friendship or service, "A great light has left Neptune, NJ."
