Bettie G. Yarbrough was born on May 25, 1933 in Long Branch, NJ to the late Deacon and Deaconess John Wesley and Elizabeth Powell.  She departed her life on Thursday June 28, 2018 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, NJ.

She attended the Red Bank Public School system.  She was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church from her youth until her transition.  Bettie worked various jobs throughout her life.

All through her life Bettie was a neighborhood mom.  If anyone needed a place to go they knew "Mom Yarbrough" doors were open.  She was the mother of all mother's.  One of William's street finest mom's ever.  She stayed on everyone's case when whomever wasn't straight she made sure that everyone was taken care of no matter what the circumstances were.

Bettie is predeceased by her parents John Wesley and Elizabeth Powell; brothers Robert Powell Sr., John Powell; sister Rosilee Powell; daughter Yvonne Yarbrough; sons Aaron Yarbrough and Larry Yarbrough.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Samuel Yarbrough Jr., Eric Yarbrough, Patricia Yarbrough, Renee Yarbrough, Elizabeth Walker (William Walker); 24 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  She will be missed by many.
