Christopher George Roper Sr. was born on June 16, 1969, the third child of Lee Sr. & Augusta Roper. Christopher was educated in the Linden Public School system; graduating in 1987.
Christopher was raised & dedicated to the Lord in Emmanuel Tabernacle Assembly of God. After high school, he attended North Carolina A & T University in Greensboro, NC for 2 years prior to enlisting in the US Navy.
Upon discharge, he developed a passion for trucking; carrying loads throughout New Jersey, New York & Pennsylvania.
After a near-fatal highway turnover; Chris rededicated his life to his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, and was honored to have been recently baptized by his oldest brother, Rev. Lee Roper Jr. this past August. He has been a faithful member of his brother's church, Victory In The Light Mininstries in Jersey City; known for offering exuberant praise in song & worship. Since his baptism; Chris often proclaimed his two sayings:
" I am still not perfect; but God is not finished with me yet; for He did not die for the perfect" and "you best believe that whenever I sense trouble or danger, I cry upon the name of the LORD"
Christopher passed away on December 17, 2017 from bronchial asthma. He is predeceased by his wife, Wanda Johnson-Roper (2012) & his mother, Augusta Louise Roper (2013). He leaves to cherish his memories; his special friend Monita Chantay Brown; his sons Keuan & Chris Jr.; his daughter Anissa; granddaughter Zoe; his father Lee Sr.; his brothers Lee Jr. (Deborah) & Brian Sr. (Sarita); his sister Kimberly Brailsford (James); his Godfather George Roper Jr.; his Godmother Sara Brockington Bost; his other Auntie-Mothers Frances Brockington & Rita Roper; his basketball teacher Uncle Terry Roper Sr. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
