Donald R. Ferrell was born on March 16, 1954 to the late James and Delma Ferrell in Danville, Virginia. He attended school at West Moreland Middle School and graduated from George Washington High School class of 1972. He furthered his education and graduated with a degree in associate in arts from Union College. He continued his education to receive several certificates of achievement in AUTOCAD, Powered Industrial Lift Trucks and a Certificate of Continuing Education in Facilities Management. Donald created his own contracting business after he retired from Meadowlands Sports Arena and Globe Span.
Donald united with Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Terrence K. Porter until his health began to fail. Donald volunteered his services to assist with Lunch Break and the Men Homeless Shelter in Red Bank. Donald was a kind loving helpful hard working patient man who was very giving. He loved the Lord; he would do all that he could to help anyone.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents James and Delma Ferrell; one brother James Ferrell.
Donald departed this life on August 30, 2024, at Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his brother, Baron Ferrell, Asbury Park, NJ and sister, Andrea Ferrell, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, two sisters-in-law, 3 nieces, 2 nephews and a host relatives and friends.
I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Donald. He was such a kind man that loved to play pool. Sleep peacefully Sir, you earned your wings. Condolences to the family
