Faith Amor Banfield was born on April 21, 1978 to the union of Peter and Sheila Banfield.  She grew up in Long Branch, New Jersey and from a young child she was always, "Daddy's Little Girl."  On Tuesday morning, October 30, 2018, Faith peacefully transitioned and was ushered into the arms of her Heavenly Father.  Heaven opened to welcome an earth angel, as Faith Amor stuck her sword in the sands of time and stepped into eternity.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age, and upon the confession of her faith, she was baptized in the Pentecostal Church in Baltimore, Maryland.  At the tender age of 8 years old, she was filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Faith's parents raised her to be obedient and respectful.  They established high goals and provided her with love, a Christian home and a quality education.  Her parent's love was always unconditional until the very end.

Faith grew in her faith as a long time member of Faith Fellowship Ministries World Outreach Center in Sayreville, New Jersey, serving as a youth teacher for many years.  In later years, she moved her church membership to Saint Luke's Methodist Church in Long Branch.  Until her passing, she served faithfully there in several capacities.  She worked with the youth, served as liturgist, was a member of the choir and and member of the board of trustees.

Faith graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School and went on to higher education to earn a degree from Monmouth University of New Jersey.  She matured into a responsible, law-abiding, productive Christian young woman.  Early in her career, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Monmouth County school system.  She was also a Social Worker with the New Jersey Department of Family Services.  Later, Faith worked as a contract associate for a company providing a Human Resources contact center and benefits administration services.

On April 17, 2010 Faith was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Hercules Assis.  They were blessed by God and remained caring and loving always.

We thank God for Faith's life well lived.  We are blessed to hear the numerous testimonies of the many lives that were touched by her witness for Christ.  Till the end, one of her favorite scripture sayings was "he is faithful that promised."

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Hercules Assis, her parents Peter and Sheila Banfield, Aunts Aldene Holder (Courtney), Beulah Banfield, Joan Kunar, Megan Adams (Neville), Lolita Phillips (Weston); Uncles David Banfield (Avon), Erwin, Trevor (Marjorie), Malcolm (Bernice), Grantley and Jeffrey Sandiford; Godfather Dr. Mebenin Awipi, Godmother Lucille Thomas, special friend Mrs. Clara Mertens; Alma Best & family, Iris Ford & family, Verna Gittens & family, Margurrita Mayers & family and a host of cousins and other extended family and friends.

Waiting to meet her in glory are two grandfathers Mr. John Banfield and Mr. Bertie Sandiford.

In lieu of flowers make donations to St. Luke's Methodist Church, 535 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07740.

I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to your family. I can only imagine the intense pain you are dealing with having lost your precious Faith all too soon. In your time of sorrow, may God’s promise that he can be resurrected and that you can be reunited with him bring a measure of comfort to your hearts. John 5:28,29 ; Psalm 37:29

Faith helped my friend Diane with her own Cancer battle for several years all the while fighting her own battle. I’ve never met a more sincere and giving person as I did in Faith……..thanks also to you Hercules for all the times you helped Diane when she lived next door. Maybe they’ll meet again as Diane passed a month ago.
