SERVICE DETAILS
Pastor Frank William Lawson went on to glory on October 13, 2017, at the VA Medical Center in Norman Oklahoma. He was the seventh of 10 born to Lucy (Major) Lawson and George Lawson on July 7, 1939. Rev. Lawson graduated from Keyport High School in 1959, marrying Althea J. Golden on December 24, 1958.
Rev. Lawson went into the military where he achieved the rank of Major in the United States Army, retiring in 1979. He then worked for the MITRE Corp. and retired after 20 years. Rev. Lawson pastored Second Baptist Church, Keyport, NJ and St. Paul Baptist Church, Red Bank, NJ. He enjoyed watching westerns which led him to write his first novel entitled "Strangers No More," by Black Rose Publishing in 2011.
He is survived by his wife Althea Lawson, Oklahoma; his children Charlene J. (George), Oklahoma, Frank W. Lawson Jr. (RoyJenna), Maryland, Wayne A. Lawson (Michelle), Oklahoma, Francine E. Lawson, Oklahoma; siblings Calvin Lawson, NJ, Winston Lawson, California, Benjamin Lawson, Peggy Ann Burton, Natalie Smith, James Lawson, Steven Lawson and Eddie Lawson all of NJ; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters in laws, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
