Iretta Victoria "Sis" (nee Dean) Holmes, 71 of Long Branch, formerly of Red Bank has entered eternal life on August 29th after a sudden decline in health.

Iretta was a beautiful, sweet, selfless woman.  She spent much of her life as a home health aide.  She took pride in caring for others, always going above and beyond for everyone.  She enjoyed shopping, particularly at New York & Company, Macy's and Boscov's.  Sis was very known for her fashion sense, no matter where she went she stood out. Sis passionately loved her family and her husband, Henry Holmes. Spending time with her loved ones was her favorite pastime.  She would always carry around photos of her grandchildren to show how extremely proud she was of them.

Predeceased by her parents Otis and Caroline (Blanton) Dean; her 5 brothers Matthew, Courtney, John, David and George Dean and her sister Anna Dean Johnson.  She is survived by her brother Clarence Dean (Ruth) and sister Caroline Dean Carson; her loving husband Henry Holmes; her 5 children Lamont Dean (Cathy), Monica Dean, Henry Holmes Jr. (Tychelle), Hysuana Scurdy, Akiesha Dean and her 2 step daughters Angel Wilson and Yvette Cross.  Her beloved grandchildren Kenneth Bernard, Jordan, Havillan and Kimora Mckinzie, Bilaal Scurdy, Henry Holmes Jr., Jamal Epps, Kahniaha Dean, Dupree Robinson, Damarion "Pedro" Drayton, Michael "Rocky" Johnson, Chrissy, Jazzmin and Paris Cross, Teriasia Dean, Lamont and Raven Holmes.  Also her cherished great-grandchildren Kaliya Bernard, Makiyah, Brielle, Jaden and Jaileen Scurdy, Jeremiah and Mia Rose Jean-Marie and Ezra Granger.  She also leaves behind a host of much loved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.  Iretta was the rock of the family and will be sorely missed.

The family would like to thank everyone who showed support during this somber time.

A repast will follow after the funeral services at Red Bank Elks, 306 Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank, NJ 07701
