SERVICE DETAILS
On March 5, 2025, God sent his angels to bring Rodney Allen Booth home in his glorified body to be with Jesus Christ our Lord. Rodney was born on February 17, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York to Dorthy Mae Miller and Robert L Booth. Rodney graduated from Springfield High School in Queens, New York and went on to attend Old Westbury University for two years.
Rodney worked for numerous retail establishments. He was later employed by Greyhound and sustained a back injury which ended his career with them. Through the guidance and supervision of his stepfather Milton Fitzgerald he became a contractor. They were awarded many government jobs and later Rodney started his own business and worked until his demise.
Rodney’s passion was Music. He joined the Black Spectrum Theater Company and traveled with them on numerous occasions, singing and engineering. He later formed a group called “Thrice” which was made up of Rodney Booth, Earl Sommers and Beverly Reid. They developed a strong alliance and performed at various venues. He also formulated a group called “Hot Ice” and they were known as the “Subway Singers”and performed up and down the transit circuit making big bucks.
He married Denise Booth on June 19, 1976. They were married for 30 years and remarried in March of 2013. A blessing of 49 years. Rodney joined Community Bible Fellowship in 2013 and later joined the men’s choir. He was dedicated to his church until Jesus called him home.
Rodney was blessed with one son Michael Howard Booth who died tragically leaving behind his granddaughters. He will be forever remembered by his wife Denise, his two oldest great grandsons Jakel and Jeremiah, mother-in-law Mary Thompson (aka Nana whom he deeply loved) and his Uncle John. They all resided together for many years.
Rodney leaves behind his four granddaughters Jasmine, Janelle, Jazelle and Jessica along with 13 other great grandchildren. He also leaves his only brother Andre Booth (Deborah), 3 sisters Beverly Gary, Tanya Fitzgerald and Melody Fitzgerald, and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
Rodney was loved by everyone he met. He will be forever cherished in their hearts
