Purificada “Pura” Gonzalez, 77 of Long Branch, NJ passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on February 16th, 2026.
Pura was born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico on February 2nd, 1949 to Felix and Domenica Cruz. Pura was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Antonio. Pura was a loving Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her family spanning multiple generations.
Pura’s passion for the care of others extended to her career. She was a certified home health aide for the State of New Jersey. Her career supporting the elderly and the infirm spanned over 30 years. Pura spent nearly 20 years working as one of VNA”s (Visiting nurses association) Health’s “Angels”.
She is survived by her brothers, Segundo and Luis; her children Antonia, Zeneido, and Eddie; her grandchildren Tyler, Eddie Jr., Lashae, Tyrae, and Antonia; and her great grandchildren Antonio, Ronin and Wesley.
Pura will be remembered for her unmatched devotion to her family and caring for the sick, elderly and the community. Pura was a lightning rod of love and care for her Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren.
