SERVICE DETAILS
Gerard James Bowles, affectionately known to family and friends as “Re-Run,” passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on October 30, 1951, in Long Branch, New Jersey. Gerard lived a life marked by dedication, service, friendship, and a love for the simple pleasures of life.
Gerard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. Following his military service, he dedicated 32 years of employment to the Tinton Falls Department of Public Works, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. His strong work ethic and commitment to his responsibilities reflected the pride he took in a job well done.
Gerard was also a dedicated and active member of the American Legion Post #266 in Neptune, New Jersey, for 29 years. He enjoyed the fellowship and camaraderie of fellow veterans and friends.
Outside of his professional and community commitments, Gerard loved music, traveling and driving. The open road offered him the opportunity to explore, and his journeys took him from state to state. Flea markets and auctions were destinations where exploring and shopping became part of the adventure. His enjoyment of these travels reminds us that a life is made meaningful not only by its milestones, but also by the everyday interests and experiences that make a person uniquely themselves.
Gerard was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Thelma Ann Bowles, and his brother, John Henry Bowles.

Bowles; his father, Herbert Grant Bowles Sr.; his daughters, Tammy Reevey and Ann Michelle Garvin; and his stepchildren, Anthony Thingpen and Michelle Thingpen.
