Betty J. Hatcher born in Neptune, NJ to the late Ida Ellen Mackie and Johnie Mackie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 4, 2026. Betty moved to Long Branch where that became her lifelong residency.
Ms. Hatcher loved to play cards, had the love for gardening and watching movies like "Boyz In The Hood," "The Color Purple," "Little Man," and "Life." Most of all she enjoyed being with family.
She worked to support her family at Laird's Company for over 20 years as well as at Perfume Factory and ended her working career with Sodexo working in the kitchen.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Jimmie Hatcher for 16 years, her siblings Henry Beale, James Beale, Lulabell Gary, Alberta Johnson, and Charmaine Patterson.
Loving mother leaves to cherish her daughters Gidget Everett, Deborah Howard, and Kimberly Hatcher; sister Emma Schanck along with 8 grandchildren, Heather Lasanes, Nicole Howard, Kevin Richardson, Jessica Howard, Caela Howard, Jimmie Howard, Karon Hatcher, Rahkim Fisher and 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend Barbarann Sheridan for over 50 years.
