Moses Thompson, born June 13, 1938, in Cottondale, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at the age of 87.
Moses enjoyed the outdoors from a young age and was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life. He also loved playing the guitar and shooting pool and many would say he was quite good at it. Another passion of his was horse racing, and he enjoyed attending races and track events whenever he could.
Moses leaves behind a lasting legacy of dedication and service through Bates Lodge #220, where he devoted much of his life to helping others. He proudly served as Exalted Ruler on two separate occasions and remained an active member as Inter Guard up until his passing. Professionally, Moses worked with Labor Unions 712, 595, and 415 until his retirement.
Known for his smile and sense of humor, Moses will be remembered and missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshanna and John Thompson, and five brothers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, grandchildren, great & great-great grandchildren, his brother, Ervin Thompson, and his sister, Mildred Hollins.
