SERVICE DETAILS
Mother Ernestine Horsley, affectionately known as "Auntee", was born on February 3, 1936, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late John and Julia Miffin Horsley. She departed this life on Monday, January 26, 2026.
She was educated in the school systems of Fitzgerald, Georgia, and St. Petersburg, Florida.
She relocated to the Neptune area in 1947, where she attended the Neptune and Asbury school systems.
Mother Horsley was employed by TDK-Lambda Americas as an Electronic Operator and retired after 20 years of service.
Mother Horsley was a member of Mt. Olive Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, under the late Elder Samuel Williams and Bishop Martin Luther Johnson. She received her Deaconess License in 1990 and later her Evangelist Missionary License through the General Assembly of the Church of God in Christ. Mother Horsley started the very first food pantry at Mt. Olive. She was also over Toys for Tots, which she did every year for the children. She held Thanksgiving Dinners every year to help feed the community.
Mother Horsley was a faithful member who loved the saints of God and was a willing worker wherever she was needed. She was on the Usher Board, the Board of Trustees, the Mothers Board, and was President of the Missionary Board. She was also a part of the Outreach Ministries and Ministerial Alliance. The MI Johnson (formerly Seashore District), Department of Women, presented Mother Horsley with the Unsung Hero Award. Along with other awards and achievements, she served as the representative for the "Asbury Park Community Action Network" and was a member of the Health Committee. Mother Horsley was a humble and
faithful witness for Christ; she had a genuine concern for God's people and demonstrated this throughout her spiritual walk.
Mother Horsley was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory her nephew, Gus Lane; niece, lona Jones; great-niece, Marion Morris; La'Tacia Horsley; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
