Beatrice Taylor, 94, a longtime resident of Neptune Township went to be with the Lord December 18, 2025. Beatrice was born June 28, 1931 in Shrewsbury Township, NJ to Benjamin and Ivy Plummer. She was the wife of Joseph E. Taylor.
Beatrice graduated from Red Bank High School, Red Bank, NJ in 1949. In the following years, she attended Monmouth Junior College, Long Branch, NJ and Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ. Following her marriage to “Joe Taylor,” they moved to Neptune in 1961.
Beatrice was known for her quick smile and inviting warmth to all. She was a longtime active member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, Red Bank, NJ where she served as a member of the Senior Usher Board, the Women’s Choir, the Women’s Ministry, assisted the Treasurer of the Sunday School and a staff member of the Vacation Bible School. Beatrice was also a member of Church Women United of the Greater Red Bank Area.
Beatrice was employed by the Federal Government at Fort Monmouth, NJ for over 37 years. Her last position before retirement was Budget Analyst.
After retirement, Beatrice was a volunteer at Neptune City Medi-Center, Neptune City, NJ, Neptune Township Senior Center and Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. She was also a Guest Reader at Midtown Community Elementary School, Neptune, NJ.
Beatrice was a member of AARP Neptune Chapter #3814, Neptune Seniors Club and Neptune Senior Center, Neptune, NJ and National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 411.
Beatrice, a vibrant woman, relished her frequent rides along the oceanfront and going shopping with her sister Lela. Her interests extended to working with arts and crafts, exercising and doing crossword puzzles.
She is predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Ivy Plummer, her husband Joseph E. Taylor, sister Othello Williams, brother James Plummer and nephews Robert Plummer and Lawrence Williams Jr. Surviving are her devoted sister Lela Fields, nephew James Plummer Jr. (Barbara), brother-in-law Arthur Taylor, niece Pamela Plummer and many grandnieces and nephews.
