Kevin Alfonzo Bivens, 55, of Neptune, New Jersey, passed away on December 29, 2025.

Kevin was born and raised in Neptune, NJ, and graduated from Neptune High School in 1988. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves and later continued his service in the National Guard. He was also a proud member of the American Legion, where he remained connected to fellow veterans and the values of service and brotherhood.

Creativity was a big part of who Kevin was. He had a natural artistic talent and enjoyed drawing, tattoo art, and designing sneakers. His creativity extended into his personal style, and he was known for having an impressive sneaker collection that reflected both his eye for design and his individuality. Kevin also loved fishing — it was one of his favorite ways to relax, reflect, and enjoy time outdoors.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Mattie P. Williams, his father Kenneth L. Bivens and his stepfather, Bruce A. Hodges.

Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Stella L. Gainey; his siblings, Michelle A. Swift (Troy) and Michael K. Gainey; his uncles, Richard Williams and Reginald Williams; his cousins, Eric Williams (Sara), Joseph Williams, Evelyn Williams, and Reggie Williams; his nieces and nephews, Jerrell Davis, Jacari Scruggs, MyAsia Abdus-Salaam (Karim), Kayla Hodges, Bruce “Qwik” Hodges, James “Citi” Hodges and Olivia Gainey; a host of grand-nieces and grand-nephews; his best friends, Don Braxton, the Braxton family, Aaron "AP" Pierce and the entire "Up the Hill" family.

Kevin will be remembered for his creativity, his individuality, his service, his love of fishing, and the quiet ways he showed up for those he loved.
