Mr. Sidney E. Crumwell Sr. was born on October 29, 1926 and passed away on June 10, 2026 in Long Branch, NJ. He was the youngest child of the late Amos and Carrie Crumwell.
In his early years Mr. Crumwell worked at Monmouth Park racetrack in its Club House executive suites. Mr. Crumwell also served in the US Navy 11/20/43 - 01/20/46 and was a strong advocate for the US armed forces and its service personnel. Mr. Crumwell enjoyed various activities such as golf and walking. In his free time, he enjoyed places such as Atlantic City as well as taking many trips.
In his 80s he attended Brookdale Community College to further his education.
Mr. Crumwell was a dedicated servant of the city of Long Branch, NJ, serving on its commissioner housing authority board and check mate, Monmouth County Democratic, Brookdale community and various other civic positions throughout his life.
He is predeceased by his parents, brothers Wilbur and Gilbert, sister Estelle and son Dr. Sidney Crumwell Jr. He is survived by his son Allan Crumwell and family of Norfolk, VA and the family of his late son Dr. Sidney Crumwell Jr. of Roanoke, VA; his life partner of 57 yrs Ms. Helen Munlin, her children and many grandchildren; he is also survived by his niece Kathy Hamlin and her family; his nephew Wesley Mayo Sr. and family as well as a host of other family.
