Ms. Olivia Berry was born on March 2, 1942, in East Orange, New Jersey, to the late Clyde Lonnie Brown Sr. and Mildred Jones Brown.
Olivia dedicated many years of service to the City of East Orange as an Administrative Assistant. Later in life, Olivia met Albert Harris III, and from their union were born her two beloved daughters, Bonita Lynne Brown-Kimbrough and Bonnie Alesia Brown Impastato.
Having moved to Long Branch in 1969, Olivia became a faithful member of St. Thomas AME Zion Church.
In 1970, Olivia married John W. Berry Sr. at St. Thomas AME Zion Church in Tinton Falls, NJ (formerly known as Pine Brook). Through this marriage she lovingly embraced his children as her own: John W. Berry Jr., Gene F. Berry, Gladys Cora Berry, and Shirley Linda Holloway. After Olivia left the City of East Orange, she became a caretaker, doing private duty cases. In 1979 Olivia graduated from LPN school and spent the remainder of her working career at Jersey Shore Hospital where she later retired in 2002.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde Lonnie Brown Sr. and Mildred Jones Brown, her siblings Melvin Brown, Clyde Lonnie Brown Jr., Shirley Brown Griffin and Carolyn Brown Mills and bonus sons John W. Berry Jr. and Gene F. Berry.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Bonita Lynne Brown-Kimbrough (Tracy C. Kimbrough) and Bonnie Alesia Brown Impastato; grandchildren Brittany Impastato, Ashley Impastato, Kaelyn Kimbrough and Jared Kimbrough; great-granddaughter Emersyn Jade Kimbrough; bonus daughters Gladys Cora Berry and Shirley Linda Holloway; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
