Alphonso K. Moore, Sr., passed away on April 5, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on December 30, 1943, in Long Branch, New Jersey, to the late Alton P. Kinsey and Lucy Moore, Alphonso grew up in Freehold, NJ, where he graduated and began building the foundation of a life defined by love, service, and connection. Alphonso later relocated to Asbury Park, NJ.

Alphonso worked for Wester Realty for many years as a property manager and maintenance supervisor, overseeing several properties with dedication and pride until his retirement. He had a gift for fixing almost anything and loved teaching others how to do the same.

To know Alphonso was to know a man whose heart was as big as his smile. His nickname, “Brother,” was more than a name — it was a testament to the way he lived. He embraced everyone as family, offering support, laughter, and a sense of belonging wherever he went.

Cooking was his passion, and he poured that love into the community he served. For many years, Alphonso hosted open‑house holiday meals, preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners that became cherished annual events of fellowship for all to enjoy. Alphonso also loved classic cars and owned several over the years.

To Alphonso, it was important to stay rooted and connected with family and friends, especially the treasured moments with his grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved dearly. He was more than a grandfather, he was Pop-Pop. Always giving advice, guidance and showering them with his love. Alphonso’s radiant smile could light up any room, and he never stopped making new friends or caring deeply for those around him.

Alphonso was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jacquline M. Moore; and his sons Anthony Williams, Alphonso K. Moore, Jr., and Derrick Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Cheryl R. Moore; his grandchildren Gregory, Shavonne, Steven, Tierra, Elaysha, Aaliyah, Anthony Jr., Andre’, Anelle, and Aiyana; thirteen great‑grandchildren. His brothers William Kinsey, Alexis Anderson, Bruce J. Kinsey; sister Gloria Wester and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who loved him dearly.

Alphonso’s legacy is one of kindness, service, and unwavering love — a life lived fully.
