Anna Louise (Gaskins) Seruby of Neptune passed away at Jersey Shore Medical Center on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024 surrounded by family. “Louise or Lou” as family and friends affectionately knew her was born on January 17, 1943 in Kinsale, a small town in Westmoreland County Virginia.

The daughter of George and Rosie (Smith) Gaskins she was one of eleven children. Louise spent most of her childhood growing up in Virginia before moving to New Jersey. She met and married Jeffrey Seruby in 1964. Although Louise had no children, she was a loving God Mother, Aunt, Sister, Cousin and Friend to all. Known by her nieces as the original “Foxy Brown” due to her stylish dress and free spirit, she was a favorite amongst all.

Louise had a lengthy career at Wheelock Signal Inc in Long Branch, NJ of which she retired from in 2000. She was a member and usher at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank and attended several other churches as God was the center of her life. She loved to travel, particularly to Las Vegas and Atlantic City. She was a great cook and an avid reader.

She is predeceased by her parents George and Rosie Gaskins, her brothers LeRoy, George Jr., Walter Ray, Moses Gaskins and Richard Roane, her sisters Grace Hart, Lynn Williams, Christine Harris Crudup and her ex-husband Jeffrey Seruby.

Left to remember her love are her brothers, Taylor (Kate) of Washington DC and Herman (Pauline) Gaskins of Limestone, ME and her sister, Mary Dorothy Fauntleroy of Clinton, MD. She also had a host of special nieces and nephews who loved and will miss her.
