Catherine Mackey was born on September 13, 1937 in Hahira, GA to the late Willie J. White Sr. and Vernell (Bernice) Johnson.  As a child her family moved to Jamesburg, NJ where she attended public school.

Catherine married the late Clinton Mackey Sr. and to this union 6 children were born Vernell (Mackey) Leysath, Alisa E. Mackey (deceased), Clinton (Man) Mackey Jr., Lucinda J. Mackey (deceased), Mary C. Mackey and John A. Mackey.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost.  Catherine had a big heart and loved to give.  There were many who received from her giving.  Whether it was financial, spiritual or emotional support, she was there to help because it was the call that God had placed upon her heart.

Catherine took courses at Brookdale Community College and became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).  She worked many years in the Home Health Care Industry.

She departed this life on September 1, 2019 at Laurel Bay Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was predeceased by her parents Willie J. White Sr. and Vernell (Bernice) Johnson, her brothers Willie J. White Jr., Harry L. White, LD White, Clarence Conover, Louis Conover and Clifford Conover, her sisters Cora White and Delores (White) Perry and her daughters Alisa E. Mackey-Robinson and Lucinda J. Mackey.

She leaves to mourn her surviving children Vernell (Mackey) Leysath of Shalimar, FL, Clinton Mackey Jr. of Morganville, NJ, Mary C. Mackey of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and John A. Mackey of Morganville, NJ; her step daugther Marcia Marks; her sister Susie (White) Baker of Tyty, GA; sister-in-law Lynn Huntley Conover of Old Bridge, NJ; son-in-law William of Asbury Park, NJ; her grandchildren Ronald Robinson Jr., Yusuf Robinson, Michael Leysath, Stephen Leysath, Buddy (William) Gray and Haley Perez as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
