Clara Mae Mackason "Baby Clara" was born on July 22, 1932 to the late Vaughn Earl Mackason Sr. and Clara Earl Mackason. Clara 88, departed this life on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, NJ. An angel came and called her name and peacefully and gently took her hand with her family by her side.
Clara was born at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. She grew up in Matawan, NJ, and lived most of her life in Long Branch. She was employed at the Monmouth Rubber Plant Company where she retired in Long Branch, NJ.
She was well known and loved in the community. All will remember her because she was caring and loving. Clara brought much happiness and joy to our lives. She was kindhearted, lovable, funny with a colorful sense of humor. She would brighten up the space with her smile when she walked into a room. Everyone who knew her knew she always said what was on her mind, in a loving way. Clara was family-oriented, she loved family reunions and get-togethers at barbecues and parties. She was always known for her "Greater than Great" potato salad.
Clara was predeceased by her father Vaughn Earl Mackason, mother Clara Earl Mackason, brother Vaughn "Cookie" Mackason, sister's Harriette Anderson, Bernice Catchings, Elisse Michelle Mackason and her niece Muriel Collins.
Clara leaves to cherish her loving memory three sons Kevin Mackason (daughter-in-law Denise Mackason), Lester "Kee-Fee" Ricks all of Long Branch, NJ; James Ricks of Lakewood, NJ; two daughters Valerie Ricks (Bobby Rush) of Asbury Park, NJ and Michelle Ricks of Columbus, OH; her sisters Joan Bates of Neptune, NJ, Lenore Andrews of Orlando, FL and Phyllis Mackason of Long Branch, NJ. Her memory is also cherished by her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
