Darlene Maria Green, née Reed was born in Long Branch, NJ on December 1, 1977 to mother Darlene Reed. Her nickname "Boobie," was coined in her youth and used well into adulthood, as a symbol of her youthful and vibrant personality. Darlene had a genuine heart of gold that she used to light up any face she encountered. She had the best advice for any situation or difficulty. Long Branch was her hometown, but Lawton, Oklahoma was her second home. She spent over 15 years working with the Lawton Constitution Newspaper, leaving behind many friends who knew her as a dedicated, soft spoken worker who made it clear that her job was only second to her role as a mother. After that, she spent more than 8 years as a troubleshooting consultant for Asurion.
Darlene's favorite pastime was drawing, painting and creating crafts for her children, niece and nephew. She understood the importance of creativity and imagination in a child's life, and knew how to make a childhood truly magical.
Her nickname, "Boobie" was coined from the song Boogie Oogie Oogie by A Taste of Honey, a testament to how she liked to boogie.
Darlene gained her wings and transitioned March 21, 2022 at 2:21 pm. Her smile and service for others will be remembered forever.
