Deborah Ann Sargent, known as Debbi to her friends and family, was a Red Bank, NJ resident. She was called home on April 10, 2024, at Complete Care at Monmouth in Long Branch, NJ, at the age of 71.
Born on September 12, 1952, in Philadelphia, PA, she grew up in Point Pleasant, NJ, and deeply loved the beach. Deborah dedicated her life to serving others, retiring after 25 years of service to the New Jersey Department of Social Services, Division of Youth and Family Services. She was a passionate advocate for social justice, particularly for women and children. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all. Deborah had diverse interests, but her love for reading was unparalleled. She was known to indulge in law and crime shows, which reflected her keen interest in justice.
She is predeceased by her parents, William Wesley and Harriett Lucille Sargent, brother William Sargent, and Sister Violet Olsten.
She is survived by her aunt Jacqueline McCree of New York City, NY; daughter Taroya Sargent of Elizabeth, NJ, son Guy and his spouse Vici Sargent of Fresno, CA, and granddaughter Zomara Sargent of Fresno, CA. She also leaves many friends and loved ones in passing.
