She was the fifth child with seven other siblings. She grew up in Cliffwood, NJ and was affectionately called “Dellie” by family and friends.  Dellie attended Cliffwood Elementary School and graduated from Matawan High School class of 1952.  After graduating, she was employed at Maiden- form garments in Perth Amboy, NJ.

Dellie married William A. Clax and from this union three daughters were born, Judith, Rosalind and Lori.

Dellie retired from Maiden form and became a child caregiver for her own children and those who needed her service.

Dellie was caregiver and nurturer for over 200 children throughout Aberdeen/Monmouth County areas. They ranged from diapers - early school years. She was their beloved “Mrs.Clax.”

In the later years she was also joint caregiver for her sister Iry.
