Denise Michelle Hamilton, 53, passed away Sunday January 28th, 2024, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune NJ, after a long bout with cancer.

Denise was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 26, 1971, and raised in Darby Township, PA. She moved to Red Bank, NJ at the age of 10, where she lived and raised her children in towns nearby.

Shortly after graduating high school at the age of 17, she embarked on her educational journey with the intent to achieve her degree in nursing. She received her first degree at Brookdale Community College and completed her education at Thomas Edison University with a Master's Degree while working for Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ, where she worked for 20+ years.  During her tenure she received a Florence Nightingale Award for her significant contribution to the well-being of others. Her final position/title maintained was RN MSN BC Assistant Nurse Manager of the Mehandru 6 unit.

Denise had a passion for nursing and devoted her life to taking care of all, within her career and her family. She was fun-loving with a quick wit, fiery attitude, and bubbly personality paired with a bright smile that lit up every space she occupied. She shared her experiences with domestic violence and inspired other women in similar circumstances to forge forward with courage and strength. In her free time, she enjoyed trips to Florida, spending time with her daughter and granddaughters. She maintained a strong bond and connection with her sons and valued quality time with her mother, siblings, nieces, and nephews. She waw driven by her core values of family.

She is survived by her children, Basheen Martin, Taleaha Martin, and Donald Martin; her mother, Lorraine Hamilton; four siblings, Alexis Hamilton, Stephanie Hamilton, Norris Hamilton, and Kevin Hamilton; 2 granddaughters; and many close relatives and friends.

She was a beacon of light. Loved by all whom she knew and will be truly missed.
