INTERMENT
Private

Denise Lurette Parker, affectionately known as “Niecy,” to those who loved her, received her wings and went to walk with the angels on Tuesday morning, at 6:23 AM, February 8, 2022. Denise was a young 55 years of age. She lived a quiet life devoting it to her children, those she loved and family. Denise was most proud of her children, son, Donte Khaliel and daughter Aanaise Pope.  She was the central figure in their lives.

Denise was born the only child to Ruth Ann and Lewis Parker in New Brunswick, NJ. Denise attended the Freehold Township public school system where she played 6 different instruments. She was musically talented. Upon graduation, she attended college and obtained an Associates Degree.  After college, Denise worked as a Social Worker, a mortgage lender and her last employment was with Vonage Telecommunications Company in Holmdel, NJ. At Vonage, she rose from a Coordinator to the position of Supervisor. However, Denise wanted to be there to see her daughter, her baby girl’s  first steps and be the first to hear her first words, as she did with Donte.   At that time, she decided to leave the workforce to devote her time as a mother caring for both of her children in which she found much joy.

For the majority of her life, Denise had health challenges, but she was determined to raise her children.  She was aware that it takes a village to raise them and she had one in Stephanie, Todd and his family, Kenny, her father Lewis, Kendra and Gregory. It was an honor for Denise to see her first born son Donte graduate from Freehold Township High School and to see her little girl Aanaise follow suit and enter her alma mater, Freehold Township High School where she is an honor roll student and college bound; Denise knew she had done well as a parent.

Denise was a fighter to the end; stronger than we’ll ever know. But one thing we know for sure, Denise gave her life to the Lord, and she was SAVED. Her spirit will be welcomed into the pearly gates where the angels will say, WELL DONE, good and faithful servant! Now come and take your rest.

To those who loved Denise, aka, "Niecy," you can honor her legacy by living your best life with love, kindness and faith in God and God alone. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Denise is survived by the people that she loved, son Donte K. Pope, daughter Aanaise D. Pope, both of Freehold, NJ; Todd Pope of Neptune, NJ; Kenny Ivory of Howell, NJ; three first cousins Gregory K. Jones, Freehold, NJ, Reggie Morris, Freehold, NJ and Wayne Jones, Jersey City, NJ; second cousin Stephanie R. Clark, Keasbey, NJ; stepsisters and brothers Michele Brooks, Ricky Parker, Judy Johnson, Pedy Johnson, Doug Johnson and Jason as well as a host of cousins and friends.
