Dorothy Rebecca Phillips, 85, of Long Branch, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday July 23, 2020. Dorothy was born in Neptune, NJ on June 8, 1935 and attended the local schools. She was employed as a domestic worker for the Tinton Falls Convalescent Center for many years. She retired at the age of 61 after her health declined. She was the proud mother of 11 children two of whom have preceded her in death.
She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, John Nathan Phillips Sr. in 1991, two children Wallace McKnight and Bernadine Lorraine Jackson.
She leaves to celebrate and cherish her memory her nine beloved children Roosevelt Bowles (Valerie), Eugene Baskerville (Diana), Samuel Bowles, Caroline Burrell, John Nathan Phillips Jr., David Brian Phillips, Helen Christina Phillips (Larry), Charles McKnight (Tawana) and Dorothy McKnight (Mitch); she also leaves to adore her loving memory 2 brothers Herbert and David Bowles; 2 sisters Helen Phillips and Cecilia Reeves (Pepper); 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
