Mr. Herman Lee Credle was born in Mesic, NC on October 28, 1928 to Deacon Homer Filmore Credle and Roseaddie Smith Credle.  He was called to rest on Friday February 7, 2020.

Early in life, Herman's parents taught him about the Lord.  At a young age, he accepted Christ into his life and was baptized and joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a devoted member until he joined the Navy and moved North.

Herman was educated in the Pamlico County School System.  He worked with his father and family in the North Carolina farm fields.

He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy after 22 years of service and moved to New Jersey where he became Manager with his brother, Guy, of Mobil Gas Station on Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank, NJ.  He also worked in Security at Fort Monmouth for many years.  He was a dedicated member and Trustee of Pilgrim Baptist Church for many years.

Preceding Herman in death was his wife of 69 years Lizzina (Lizzie) Credle, daughter Jannie Odum, brothers Homer Credle Jr. and Harold Credle and sister Ella Mae Jackson.

Herman leaves to cherish his memories of his life, brothers Glenwood Earl Credle (Delores) of Red Bank, NJ, Guy Lovett Credle (Jannette) (his caregivers) of Neptune, NJ and Samuel Whitehurst (Cherry) of Spotsylvania, VA; sisters Neva Ruth Branch of New Bern, NC, Joyce Marie O'Neal of New Bern, NC, Nettie Pearl Melvin of Lakewood, NJ, Laula Elizabeth Allen of Garner, NC and Ruby Sawyer of Maribel, NC; one sister-in-law Martha Council of Tarboro, NC; one granddaughter Vicky Leonard (Francis); one grandson Kermit Brauner (Terrie); five great grandchildren, Brenia Leonard, Jamal Leonard, Kermit Brauner, Carolyn Brauner, Jason Brauner; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
