Ida Geraldine Austin Brown, 90, of Red Bank peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in Charlotte, NC.
Born on January 10, 1934, in Red Bank, NJ, to parents Sallie and Colonial Austin, Ida remained a lifelong resident of Red Bank. She graduated from Red Bank High School, where she built many cherished friendships and memories.
Ida was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 56 years where devotion and her faith was evident. She was an active participant in the church community and was a proud member of the Church’s flower club, where she helped bring beauty and joy to the church.
She was a dedicated employee at Fort Monmouth Army Base and later the Red Bank Housing Authority where she retired. She made a lasting impact on her colleagues and the community she served. Known for her kindness, strength, and devotion to her family, she was a woman of great character who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ida is predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles E. Brown, and her dear sisters Phyllis Reynolds and Sally Gladden Austin.
She is survived by her loving children, Harold Albert (Cheryl) and Sally Ann Brown; her cherished grandsons, Aaron Reed Albert, Myles Anthony Albert, and Christopher George Albert. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
