Joan Julia Burke of Long Branch, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019.
She was born in Trinidad, West Indies. Joan was a graduate of the Open Bible Institute in San Fernando, Trinidad, and a former employee of Marshalls.
Joan dedicated her life to raising her children and took great pride in being a stay-at-home mom. She loved her family dearly and her siblings were always her best friends. She had a beautiful smile and always conveyed a positive attitude and message throughout her life.
Throughout the years, Joan remained very involved in the churches she attended often teaching and preaching in some of them. She was a devout Pastor's wife and spiritual leader to many. She loved her job and her work family at Marshalls. She was a mentor to her coworkers, as well as to others in her personal life.
She is predeceased by her parents Elliot and Rose Small.
She is survived by her former husband Leroy Burke; son Ted (wife Paula); daughters Arlene (husband Christopher) and Jewell; five grandchildren Samuel, Hannah, Micah, Jude and Amayah; siblings Janet, Joyce, Kathleen, Gemma, Barry and June as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
