OBITUARY
SERVICE DETAILS
Junior Lee Anderson was born to the late Grady Anderson Sr. and Annie Pearl (Benjamin) on February 2, 1941 in Talladega, Alabama. He transitioned from this life on December 16, 2022. He attended school in Alabama before moving to Akron Ohio. Junior began employment in Akron Ohio at General Motors and later moved to New Jersey and continued working for General Motors in Linden, NJ. As a display of how much “he loved his job” he retired with 46 ½ years of service. Not only did he love his job, he only purchased GM cars. As a connoisseur of cars; if it was fast he had to have it. He enjoyed cooking and on Sundays you would often find him in the kitchen.
Known as "Poppy" to his immediate grandchildren Poppy was a disciplinarian and teacher. These are some of the many things he would say: “who slammed that (bleep) door” “don’t be running up those stairs” “don’t walk on my grass” “bend your back when you scrape your plate.” They all knew, that what he said, was said in LOVE. He was a no nonsense person and said exactly what he meant.
He was predeceased by his parents Grady Anderson Sr. and Annie Pearl Beavers; his brothers David, Joe-Cleveland, Douglas and Julius Anderson.
Junior leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving wife Cleo Anderson of 35 years; his sisters Gladys Anderson, Bartlett, Tennessee, Mary (Joe) Gamble, North Plainfield, NJ, Stella Anderson, East Orange, NJ and Sara (Edward) Calhoun, Bartlett, Tennessee; his brothers Walter Lee Anderson, Poughkeepsie, NY and Kevin (Robin) Anderson, Birmingham, Alabama; his children Yolanda-Linda Toms River, NJ, Lanard (Latrice) Irvington, NJ, Felicia, Harrisburg PA and Lamont(Vanessa) Middletown, NJ; his grandchildren Fatisha, Andre, Anthony, Derek, Anesia, Daquan, Dashon, Xavier, Kyce, Jinah, and Asia; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
