Mamie Ernestine Lockett, daughter of William and Josephine Moore was born on April 19, 1929 in New Bern, North Carolina.  She transitioned on December 15, 2018 at Riverview Medical Center surrounded by her family at the age of 89.

Mamie lived in Summit, NJ working with her husband, Robert in a family-owned dry-cleaning business for over 30 years.  Retiring to NC, Mamie enjoyed returning "home" and resided  there for 10 years reconnecting with friends and family.

After the death of her husband, Mamie returned to NJ in 2001.  Residing in Middletown, Mamie was eager to find a church home and felt at peace with Calvary Baptist Church.  There she found so many friends who she loved and enjoyed spending time with.  She volunteered at the Red Bank Senior Center preparing lunches for the Meals on Wheels program, attended Bible Study at her church and regular prayer meetings with friends.

Mamie was predeceased  by her husband, Robert; brothers Charles, Earl, William, Andrew, James and Abraham Moore and sisters Alice Delamar and Mary Foy.

She leaves to cherish her memory a son Robert of Wilson, NC, three daughters Josephine, Carolyn and Doris all of New Jersey; a grandchild Dr. Nedra Lee of Boston, Massachusetts, a sister Pearl DeLong and brother-in-law Rev. Lloyd DeLong of Connecticut, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and a group of very special friends.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her, sent beautiful cards, and a constant stream of support and prayers. Your kindness was so appreciated.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
