Mary Lawrence was born on June 22, 1955 in Russell County, Alabama to the late John Henry Lawrence and Rose Lee Lawrence. The Lawrence family relocated to New Jersey in 1965.
Mary attended and graduated from Monmouth Regional High School. She became a professional hair dresser and she also worked as a dietician at Red Bank Convalescent Center. Mary was quiet yet attentive to the needs of others.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her two children Keithie and Yolanda; daughter-in-law Sawana and son-in-law Tau Zuni Kamau; brothers Herman, John Jr. and Richard (preceded in death); sisters Shirley, Carrie, Betty and Juanita; sister-in-laws Janet and Gwen; grandchildren Sanah, Takiesha, Jahil, Sayvond, Sekou and Ishier; five great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Today we don't mourn for Mary instead we celebrate life.
