Palmer B. Stafford is the fourth of five children of Jennie and Julius Blue. Palmer was born in Spring Lake, New Jersey on September 19, 1928. She was a lifelong resident of Neptune.
Palmer worked at Fort Monmouth for many years. She retired in 1987 as a Program Analyst for the CECOM, New Equipment Training Program. In addition to her outstanding career at Fort Monmouth, Palmer volunteered at Jersey Shore Medical Center. She also served as a Neptune voting booth Monitor during all elections.
Palmer was a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church since 1943! She was featured in a 1997 article in the Asbury Park Press titled "Faith," which highlighted women being the backbone of their congregations. She served in numerous positions including leader of the Senior Choir for many years. She worked closely with Gladstone Trott to provide wonderful music during all services. Many new members joined the choir during the time she was there since she was the leader. Palmer was an original member of The Arts Guild (TAG).
Palmer is survived by her son Michael (Mildred); grandchildren Michael, Nicole and Lore; step grandchildren Naomi and Manuel; great-grandchildren Malachi and Zahavah; brothers Charles and Donald (Elsa) plus many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
