Raymond B. Owens, Jr. was born on August 10, 1955, in Neptune, New Jersey, to the late Raymond B. Owens, Sr. and Alma Owens. He received his education through the Long Branch, New Jersey school system. After graduating, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, where he honorably served his country for four years and received an Honorable Discharge.
Following his military service, Raymond dedicated 25 years to his work as an Environmentalist in Monmouth County, New Jersey. He lived a fun-loving, joyful life and was known for his warm spirit and ever-present smile.
Raymond departed this life and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Hackensack Meridian Hospital in Neptune, New Jersey.
He is preceded in death by his father, Raymond B. Owens, Sr.; his mother, Alma Owens; his bonus mom, Constance Shaw; four brothers—Kevin Owens, Troy Razheem Arthur, Donald Clark, and Gregory Owens; and two sisters, Donna Cummings and Pax Owens.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters: Sykema Young (Smyrna, GA), Leslie (Adedeji) Ojo (El Reno, OK), Jolynn Boyd (Toms River, NJ), and Melissa Clark (Asbury Park, NJ); three brothers: Derrick Owens (Neptune, NJ), Anthony Jones (New York, NY), and Emanuel Jones (Red Bank, NJ); along with a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Raymond’s light, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
