Rosalie M. Bennett, 74, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Chilton Medical Center surrounded by her family on Sunday February 4, 2024.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ to Angelo ‘Babe’ Mauro & Cecelia Pagano Mauro of Mauro Motors, a family Chrysler dealership started by her grandfather, Michael Mauro in Woodbridge. Rosalie attended the Benedictine Academy & Monmouth University before beginning her career teaching art at Woodbridge High School where she taught for nearly thirty-four years, and also coaching the girls’ basketball team.
An accomplished painter herself, Rosalie appreciated & participated in many forms of art including pottery, basket weaving, and attending the theater & concerts.
After marrying her beloved husband of forty-five happy years, Robert Bennett, the couple moved to Colts Neck, close to the family home.
Rosalie will be remembered more than anything for her compassion and giving heart. She was always there to support those she cared about and offer some advice.
Rosalie was predeceased by both her parents and her brother, Michael. She leaves behind her brothers, sister, and their spouses Salvatore Mauro (Janice), Thomas Mauro (Valerie), Janine Guderian (Chris), Alfred Juska (Michael Mauro) and her many nieces and nephews.
