Sherrmain Marie Gay, 61 of Camden, NJ gained her wings on Tuesday February 9, 2021 at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, NJ. Sherrmain was born to the late Herbert and Evelyn Sample on October 10, 1959 in Millsboro, Delaware. At an early age, Sherrmain and her family moved from Dagsboro, Delaware to Millhurst, NJ. After that to Englishtown, Freehold and Paterson. Due to her mother's death she then moved to Jamesburg, NJ where she continued her high school education. She attended Paterson Industrialization Opportunity Business School and graduated at the top of her class. Sherrmain worked many jobs throughout her life, the last was at Meridian Health Care as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She also attended Antioch Baptist Church of Camden.
Sherrmain was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Evelyn Sample, 1 great-grandson Jacquis Frye, 2 brothers Alex M. Wise and Edward H. Wise, 3 sisters Patricia Sample, Shirley M. Davis and Mary Francis Keene.
Sherrmain leaves to cherish her memories her husband Lawrence Gay of Camden, NJ; 1 daughter Quayshetta L. Wise; 1 sister Charlotte A. McAllister (Frank); 1 brother Thomas L. Wise; 2 grandchildren Qua'shawn Myers and Savion Higginbotham both of Texas; 3 great-grandchildren Kaydence Kerins, Qua'shawn Myers Jr. and Kaisen Myers; 2 sister-in-laws Cynthia Gay and Emily Gay; 1 brother-in-law Kenneth Gay as well as a host of other family and friends.
