Shirley Olivia Armour 82, of Matawan, NJ passed away on Tuesday December 1, 2020 in Old Bridge, NJ. Shirley was born on April 20, 1938 to Aldophus and Emma Gary in Boston, MA.
She attended school in Gumberry High School, North Carolina. Shirley was a hairdresser and a stay-at-home mom. She loved music, particularly Al Green. She was known as an amazing cook and good storyteller. She loved her family fiercely and did not mince her words; she would tell you exactly how it was in a loving way. She was loved by everyone she met.
She was predeceased by her parents Aldophus and Emma Gary, 6 brothers and 7 sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years William Armour, her children Brenda (Robert) Ellison, Rickie (Pamela) Armour, Sharon Armour, James Armour and Rodney Armour, 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Chester Gary and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley did not want a public funeral or viewing so her family will hold a private graveside service.
