Tarra Lynn Slocum-Holmes-Torres was born on October 27th, 1963, in Neptune, NJ to her late parents Lolita M. Slocum-Holmes and Harold H. Holmes. Tarra departed this life on earth Thursday April 11th, 2024, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.

Tarra grew up in Matawan, NJ with six sisters and one brother. She attended the Matawan school system where she graduated from Matawan Reginal High School.

On July 21st, 1985, Tarra married Felix S Torres Jr. They knew it was love at first sight. Tarra and Felix had one child together Tarra Lynn Torres-Harkins. They were married 39 years when the Lord called her home. Tarra took an interest in the Medical Field and became a dual Certified Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant. She also loved working with kids and working as a Teacher's Assistant.

Tarra is best known for her love for Jesus. Tarra accepted God into her heart at an early age, and she loved talking about the Lord. She enjoyed reading the bible and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was loving and caring and in her spare time she liked to go thrift shopping. She also enjoyed Arts & crafts with her grandchildren. Tarra also loved planning parties. She was loved greatly by her daughter, husband, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is predeceased by her sister Tanyin Alisa Slocum and then her brother Mark Alen Slocum-Holmes.

Tarra leaves for us to cherish her memories with her beloved husband Felix S. Torres Jr.; her daughter Tarra L Torres-Harkins; her four grandchildren Jonathan D. Hart Jr, Vanessa Lynn Hart, Christopher D. Hart, and Olivia Joy Harkins; a loving son-in-law Luis D. Harkins; her siblings Lolita Tanay Newbey, Tia Tarita Slocum- Holmes, Toisan C. Holmes, Sandra Wright-Holmes, and Dolores Jones.
