Wilhelmena Hickman 99 of Long Branch, NJ passed away at home surrounded by family. “Mena” as she was affectionately known was born in Marion, South Carolina to Willie and Martha Gainey. She was the kindest, sweetest person who was known to be quiet and a good listener. Every time someone needed anything she would serve them with so much love and tenderness. She was a loving sister to Bernice, her only surviving sibling.
Wilhelmena met the love of her life Henry and was married for many years before his passing. Mena worked for Cambell Soup in Camden, NJ for numerous years before working at Monmouth Medical Center in housekeeping.
Wilhelmena is predeceased by her husband Henry Hickman, four brothers Leroy, George, Robert and Willie Gainey, sister Ruth Cunningham, and a special nephew Russell Gainey.
She is survived by a sister Bernice Gainey of Long Branch, NJ as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
She will be missed!
