It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of William Gene Robinson, who departed this life on February 9th, 2025, in the comfort of his home in Matawan, New Jersey surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Born on December 21, 1953, in Old Bridge, New Jersey, he was the beloved son of Sadie Belle Robinson and Gabriel David Robinson. He was the seventh of ten children within a close tight-knit family. He is preceded in death by his parents Sadie and Gabriel Robinson and his siblings, Ronald Robinson, Gabriel (DA) Robinson IV, Lucille Hardy, Charles Robinson, and Clifford Robinson.

William is a proud alumnus of Cedar Ridge High School where he excelled academically and athletically. His passion for track and field was evident in his dedication and achievements during his time in school. After graduating, William began a career as an electrician, where his meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic set him up for success. His professional journey led him to work for Hercules/Aqualon, where he dedicated over 35 years of service until his well-deserved retirement.

William was a man with immense character and whose love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his three sisters Jackie Hundley, Barbara Ramirez, Diane Robinson, his brother Raymond Robinson and aunt Linda Ellerbe. His legacy continues through his three children, Ira Robinson, Ityra Robinson, and Linda Robinson, his 19 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy during his time on this earth.

As we bid farewell to a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, we take solace in being able to celebrate the life that William lived. May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his memory continue to live on in those that love him dearly.
