April R. Carter was born on April 27, 1981 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center to her parents Diane Carter and Billy Wayne Hocutt. April worked at Family Dollar in Asbury Park for a short while. She passed away on May 6, 2026.
April was a sister, a daughter, auntie, cousin but first a mom. She always tried her best to give love to the family and friends surrounding her but struggled to express it at times! Nevertheless, she loved the best way she knew how and that’s all that mattered. Some may say that love should not hurt and it shouldn’t. Family dynamics intrude on us and curtail the people we want to be. April struggled in her life but always shielded her children from seeing it. Oftentimes, black women and men act strong and build barriers around themselves while trying to avoid slipping back to negative habits. April did the best she could and she always wanted the world to know life was not a “Bed of Roses.” But one thing for sure she loved her kids.
She's now resting in peace!
