Marscheall S. Glisson (Barbara aka Bobbie) born September 5, 1957 at Fitkins Hospital in Neptune, now Jersey Shore University Medical Center where she was called to her eternal home on Friday May 16, 2025. She lived her entire life in Neptune, you can truly say she was a Jersey Girl.

Barbara gave her life to Christ at an early age while attending Union Baptist Church and singing on the Young Adult Choir. Barbara graduated from Neptune High School with the class of “1976” and then attended Brookdale Community College taking classes in Business Administration.

While in high school Barbara worked at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Tinton Falls as a Nutritionist. Then in the late 70’s she got a job working at Centeral Jersey Bank in Freehold in their Adjustment/Transit department until a merger in 1995 in which that department was eliminated. Barbara then landed a job at Jamesburg Detention Center in Monroe Township until 2010 when federal cuts ended her job there.

In 1991, Barbara met the “Love of her Life.” Their connection was quite but immediate, unfolding through shared laughter. They enjoyed traveling between cultures, meeting new friends and raising their granddaughter Sah’Kyia.  Their bond created a new meaning for the words “UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.” Even through all of her sickness he was there until the very end – proof that love, once rooted, never truly fades.

She was predeceased by both parents Essick L. Sr. and Helen B. Johnson, son baby boy Benjamin, children Dr. Gerald and Tymira Glisson, sister Shenette Benjamin, brother Essick L. Johnson Jr. and aunt Vermell Bolden.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her devoted and honorable husband Eugene Glisson; grandchildren Sydney, Skylar and Sah’Kyia; siblings Rev. James (Rubye) Benjamin of Stockbridge, GA, Michael (Rosalyn) Bolden of Sacramento, CA, Johnnie (Lisa) Benjamin Sr. of Dalzell, SC, Jackie (Hazel-deceased) Johnson-Dennis of Rembert, SC, Diana (Marshall) Foye of Fredericksburg, VA, Delores (Johnny) Johnson-Wright of Neptune, NJ, and Fonda Bolden of Stafford, NJ; aunt Alberta Singleton of Bronx, NY; godmother Celestine Overbey of Neptune, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, other  relatives and friends.

A special Thank you for friendships and some that have lasted over 50 years Kim Barksdale, Amy Stephenson, Shelia Patterson, Eldore Flatts, Fan McDaniels and Jacquelyn Davis-Fields.
