Matthews “Matt” Green Jr., 36, of Long Branch, NJ passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.
Matt was born in Long Branch at Monmouth Medical Center on December 31st, 1988. He attended Long Branch Schools where he graduated from Long Branch High School in 2008. Matt went on to work with The Moving Guys in Marlboro, NJ. He enjoyed traveling and spending valuable time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed watching sports with his favorite team being The Saints.
Matt was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Rev. Richard Reed (Long Branch); paternal grandmother Thelma Green (Pittsburg); and paternal grandfather Philip Green (Long Branch).
He is survived by his maternal grandmother Edna Reed Sr. (Long Branch); mother Laura Reed-Jackson and stepfather Troy Jackson (Jackson, NJ); father Matthews Green Sr. (Pittsburgh); sisters Dawn and Antoinette Reed, brother Marcus Green (Pittsburgh); nephew Nazir Allen, niece A’ryah Riddick, and a host aunts, uncles, family and friends.
A special recognition to “The Sandbox Crew” Lil Ronald, Lil Kev, Tae, Lil D, and P Lew, and inherited sister Juju, and special cousin Big Kev Gilliard.
