Ronald Kenneth Jackson peacefully slipped away into the arms of Jesus on September 10, 2026, at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center surrounded by nothing but love. He was born on March 28, 1957, in Jamaica, Queens (N.Y.) to the late Arnold and Ludell Jackson. As a young boy, he joined the Bethany Baptist Church, Jamaica, Queens, where he was baptized and joyfully served as a junior usher and sang in the children’s choir.
Ronald was educated in the New York City public school system, where he excelled in the gifted and talented program. He tested and was admitted into Newtown High School to prepare for a future career in engineering. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Polytechnic Institute in Brooklyn, New York, and went on to receive his Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
Ronald began his professional career as an engineer with PSE&G, which led him to New Jersey. After working at PSE&G, he became a Research Scientist for the New Jersey State Bureau of Public Utilities, where he managed the Clean Air/Clean Energy Program. He served faithfully in this role until his passing, working with excellence, integrity, and the quiet diligence that reflected Colossians 3:23, doing all things as unto the Lord.
Ronald was blessed with his wonderful wife through a mutual friend, and they were married in 1987. Their union brought forth one beautiful daughter, Jasmine Joy Jackson. He also has a son from a previous relationship, Michael Christopher Harper. The four of them were a beautiful family.
In 1991, Chairman Jackson joined United Fellowship Baptist Church, where he served with unwavering dedication. He was a member of the Male Chorus, the Manna Ministry, and always made himself available to help whenever and wherever he was needed. He was called to the Trustee Ministry where he served faithfully for over 25 years. Becoming chairman of the trustee board was a profound honor to him, especially because his father had also been a trustee. Chairman Jackson carried this responsibility with humility and excellence, ensuring the financial stewardship of the church remained strong and honorable.
Chairman Jackson also served as the Treasurer of the Seacoast Missionary Baptist Association for over ten years.
He was a charter member of the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, D.C. contributing regularly to support the preservation and celebration of African American history and legacy.
Chairman Jackson exuded the joy of the Lord. Whenever you saw him, he always had a smile on his face. He had a gentle spirit and was always exemplifying Christ love in his speech and actions. His very presence shifted atmospheres, and he truly was a Man of God full of kindness, humility, and unwavering faith.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of thirty-nine years, Cassandra A. Jackson of the home, his daughter, Jasmine Joy Jackson of the home, his son, Michael Christopher Harper of Herndon, Virginia, his sisters, Delrene and Millicent Jackson of Jamaica, Queens, N.Y., his Goddaughter, Janelle Young (Joseph) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, his sister-in law, Dawn Dantzler of Parlin, New Jersey, his brother-in-law, Kevin G. Montgomery (Beverly) of Durham, North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ronald lived a life that honored God, loved people, and left a legacy of faith, excellence, and joy. And though he will be deeply missed, we rest in the blessed assurance that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and we will see him again.
We watched you softly slip away. We tried so hard to make you stay;
but God was watching from above and called you home to show His love.
But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully and free from pain,
How could we wish you back with us to suffer that again.
Now we praise God for letting us have you and for the times you brightened our days
For the love of laughter and living. Yes, for the warmth of your loving ways.
