Towaner Elnnett Williams, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, peacefully departed this life on April 22, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on March 18, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Towaner was a beacon of faith and devotion, whose life was a testament to her unwavering love for the Lord.

Towaner's journey of education and professional success began at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science followed by one of her proudest achievements, earning her MBA in Project Management through the fast track program at The George Washington University of Washington, DC. She was a proud member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. during her college years, embodying the ideals of sisterhood and service. Her professional career as a Computer Systems Analyst and Software Developer spanned over 24 years, with notable tenures at Bell Atlantic (now AT&T), IBM, and Lucent Technologies. She is remembered as a pioneer in the field, whose dedication and expertise left an indelible mark on the industry.

After meeting in the summer of 1974, on May 4, 1979, Towaner married the love of her life, Charles Ray Williams. Together, they built a beautiful life for nearly 46 years of marriage, raising their loving son, doting on and being actively present in the lives of their five precious grandchildren and serving their community with grace and generosity. Towaner's deep commitment to her faith was evident through her active involvement in both her current home church, Hope Cathedral in Jackson, NJ and previously, Macedonia Baptist Church in Lakewood, NJ where she served as a Trustee and participated in numerous ministries. Her roles were many, including the Cotillion Board, Chair of the Christian Education Board, a member of the Nursing Home Ministry, and a vibrant voice in the choir. Her dedication to her community was evident through her participation in programs such as Hope's Angels, Summer Vacation Bible School and service as a small group leader.

Beyond her Faith led work, Towaner was a passionate supporter of charitable endeavors. She dedicated countless hours to organizations such as Jack & Jill, the Prison Outreach Angel Tree Program, and various feeding programs. Marked by grace and purpose, Towaner will be cherished for generations to come as a testament to a life devoted to the betterment of others.

Towaner was predeceased by her beloved parents, Christine and Eddie Maxie of Shreveport, Louisiana, who undoubtedly welcomed her into eternal rest.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith in the hearts of her surviving family: her devoted husband, Charles Ray Williams of Jackson, NJ; her cherished son, Terrence D. Williams and his wife Jeannine of Manchester, NJ; her five adoring grandchildren, Isabella, Carlos, Saniyah, Desmond and Greyson; her loving sister and best friend, Karvon Perry; and her dear brothers, Eddie Maxie Jr., Barry Maxie, and Tracy Maxie. She also leaves behind an enormous host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

As we celebrate Towaner's life, we find comfort in the profound impact she had on those around her and the enduring legacy she leaves behind. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her
