April A. VanKline was born on April 27, 1967 to Reginald & Effie Jackson at the former Fitkin Memorial Hospital currently known as Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.  April attended Katzenbach School for the deaf in Trenton, NJ where she graduated with honors.  During her time at Katzenbach she was a member of the sports cheerleading team.  April also was elected as Miss Deaf USA.

Upon her graduation from high school April chose a career as a beautician & hairdresser. She found work at Hair World in Lakewood, NJ and also various other shops.  During her career she received numerous awards and certificates.

April was a member of Glad-Tidings Tabernacle of Praise Church in Vauxhall, NJ where her father Rev. Reginald Jackson is the pastor.

She is predeceased by her husband Dwayne D. VanKline and her mother Rev. Effie A. Jackson.

She leaves to mourn her beloved father Rev. Reginald E. Jackson of Howell, NJ; sister Erica A. (Ricky) Jackson of Philadelphia, PA and a host of cousins, nephews, aunts, uncles and a multitude of her hearing impaired friends.
