SERVICE DETAILS
Attorious Hutchinson DaCosta, 87, of Long Branch, NJ passed away on October 4, 2023, in Neptune, NJ. She was born in Long Branch, NJ to Pearl Sara Collins and David McKinley Hutchinson. She was also known as “Toby” because she was a tomboy growing up with five brothers. She graduated from Long Branch High School. Besides Long Branch, she also lived in Colorado and Asbury Park, NJ.
She worked as a seamstress in a coat factory, a housekeeper at Monmouth Medical Center, and as a certified nurse’s aide for over 35 years.
She was quick-witted and sarcastic but is remembered as loving and caring. She loved to travel, coconut custard pie, jelly donuts, and her coffee black!
She is predeceased by her parents David Hutchinson and Pearl Collins, her brothers Charles, Roland, George, Berkley, and Melvin, her husbands Lanzy Newman and Michael DaCosta, and her son David Todd.
She is survived by her children Bettina Holmes, Adrienne Dangler, Lance Newman, and Giovanna DaCosta; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
To Tina, Gregory, Adrienne, Gigi and family: We would like to express our deepest condolences. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. Aunt Toby beautiful smile could light up a room. Remember all of the fond memories you had of her.
