Barry Ward Wilson, Sr., known as "Butch" to his immediate family and close friends and affectionately called "B-Dub" by many, departed this life peacefully at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ on Monday, May 31, 2021, of complications from a short illness while he courageously battled cancer.

Barry was born on May 4, 1943 in Neptune, NJ.  He attended and graduated from Neptune Township Public Schools.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.  He served his country proudly as a Military Police from 1961 to 1965.  After an Honorable Discharge from the Marines, he was employed as a Corrections Officer for the New Jersey State Home for Boys, Jamesburg, NJ and Asbury Housing Authority as a Housing Guard.  Barry then began his career as a Neptune Township Police Officer for 10 years.  He retired from Neptune PD after being injured in the line of duty.  He later worked as Head of security for Shadow Lake Adult Community, Middletown, NJ and Surety Supervisor at Lakehurst Naval Base, Lakehurst, NJ.

His education includes certificates from NRA Security Fire Arms Instructor Development School and National Cryptologic School, Diploma: Private Security Officer from ICS and Criminal Justice from Brookdale Community College.  Growing up Barry attended St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Asbury Park with his family.  He later was a faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank.

Barry was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Gladys Wilson; brothers, Edward Snead Sr., Rudolph Wilson and sister, Lelanda Boyd Phillips.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: his devoted wife, Ann Wilson; sons, Barry Wilson, Jr. (Jennifer), Henderson, NV and Raphael Smith, Neptune, NJ; brother, Alonzo Snead, San Bernadino, CA; sisters, Miriam Moore, Norcross, GA and Linda Shomo, Neptune, NJ; grandchildren, Allana John-Charles, Armani John-Charles, Mariyah Espinoza, Noah Espinoza, Michael Espinoza, La'tisha Laing, James Blount, Brianna Blount, Elaina Laing and Alexander Estephan (God son); special daughter, Sherael Keys and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
