SERVICE DETAILS
Beatrice Dorothy Daniels Powell, affectionately known as Bea, was the daughter of the late Randolph and Clara Daniels. Beatrice was born on March 10, 1937, in Long Branch, NJ. She was gently taken into God's loving care on Friday October 6, 2023, at the age of 86.
Beatrice attended the Tinton Falls and Red Bank Public school systems and graduated from Red Bank High School in 1955.
Beatrice was baptized and a longtime member of Pilgrim Baptist Church until her death.
Beatrice was a longtime member of the Phyllis Wheatley Temple #276, Red Bank, NJ. She was a faithful and active member up until taking ill before her death.
Beatrice was a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore area. She worked various jobs including Shore Cleaners, cleaning houses, Laird, and finally ending her work career at Seals Eastern, retiring in the early 2000s.
Beatrice was predeceased by her youngest son Stephen Powell on July 11, 2019, and her 7 siblings Sarah, Randolph, Willie, James, Bernard, Minnie, and Melody.
She leaves to mourn her memories 3 children Robert M. Powell, Jr., Eatontown, NJ, Barbara A. Powell, Red Bank, NJ, and Denise Powell Graham, Washington DC; 3 brothers Albert Daniels, Red Bank, NJ, Frederick Daniels (Edna) Long Branch, NJ, and Abe Daniels (Pam) Salisbury, NC; 9 grandchildren, Kendra, Robert, Rhonda, Jeoffrey, Isaiah, Nicholas, Stephen Jr., DuWayne and Maria; 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dearest Mama Graham,
On behalf of the entire Friendship Woodridge International Baccalaureate School community in Washington DC, I extend our deepest condolences on the passing of your dear mother, Ms. Bea.
While we did not have the pleasure of knowing Ms. Bea personally, we know her through the character of our beloved teacher, Mama Graham. Mama Graham is a kind, compassionate, and dedicated educator, and she is clearly a loving daughter.
We know that Ms. Bea played a vital role in shaping the person and teacher that Mama Graham is today. We are grateful for her love and support, and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family during this difficult time.
Please know that we are all here for you, Mama Graham. We are sending you love and support during this time of grief.
